Carpark cleaning/Tarmac cleaning for a quotation given 18 months ago, a repeat clean – when could it be done?

This is a big job & part of a much bigger quote that included, cladding cleaning, window cleaning, service yard cleaning & the carpark cleaning. We cleaned it 3 years ago and because of the particular location had a lot of moss growth on the Tarmac & a lot of algae build up on the cladding.

One difference this time, the time of year.

On the last clean it was the summer, warm, getting wet wasn’t really a problem. There’s a lot of getting wet on this one but that’s later on in the project.

We knew the weather was going to break but didn’t know exactly when. There were several days of very heavy rain, when you look out of the van window and think ‘Oh no’ and you just have another 5 minutes.

There are jobs that are enjoyable then there are those that seem to really test you – this is a really enjoyable one until we get onto the cladding cleaning at the rear.

So we started off with Tarmac cleaning (approximately 12000sqm), curb edging (4000LM) & concrete walkways (no idea – a lot!), a full service yard clean (approximately 4000sqm) and a tidy up to all areas.

Don’t let anyone tell you that Tarmac cannot be cleaned by pressure washing because it can. It can be damaged by people pressure washing it wrongly or using the wrong size nozzles or turbo nozzles too directly but if you know what you are doing the photos don’t lie.

Don’t forget curb edges – we love curb edge cleaning, it’s like the forgotten part of the carpark. They make all the difference and really highlight the carpark cleaning. What a difference – ‘WOW’

Project carried out in October 2019.

We’ll call this part 1. More to follow.
